Analysis - Jochebed Buttigieg & Jean Luke Zammit

Our topic from the fields is an informational matter, and the interview that we are going to conduct is about 'Lollies Snack Bar' which is located in Floriana. We will tackle the history behind this 'famous snack bar' and how Mr George Buttigieg became the owner of the snack bar. With twenty-two years of experience, we will question Mr Buttigieg about how his journey began and how much has changed from previous years.

This journey began by contacting Mr Buttigieg via email where we asked him if he was willing to sit for an interview with us and discuss his profession, the history of the snack bar, and how he became the owner. To reach out to a wide audience, we created an Instagram page, which will be used to publish our final product.

The schedule consists of a two-day filming process; the first day will be used to conduct the interview and the second will be used to gather B-roll footage. For Our B-roll footage, we will capture what it feels like to be in the snack bar itself, making Maltese traditional food such as ftajjar Maltin and other food choices will be showcased. The audience will get an insight into how the business functions during the rush hour, where we will provide the kitchen aspect, and see how they collaborate as a team to create a smooth, fast service.

There will be a risk assessment since we will be capturing footage in a private establishment where, if necessary, we will hand out consent forms to make sure that the citizens who will be there in the snack bar will be fine with letting us record with their consent.

The following are the questions that we are planning on asking Mr Buttigieg during the interview:

Introduce yourself and kindly give us a brief background on how you took over the business.
How did the transition come to be from the previous owner to you?
Have you made any changes since you took over the business? If so, what are these changes? (Not how the place looks, but business-wise—selling etc.)
Are there any customers that have been loyal to the business over the past years?
How does it feel to own a place that has a rich historical background?

To ensure monitored sound during the interview we will require equipment. These include a Zoom H6 pocket recorder and a set of headphones. It's important to have eight batteries to power these devices effectively. For performance, in environments and minimal visibility during the interview, a lapel microphone is essential. Additionally, we will need an SD card and an SD card reader for recording our footage along with a camera and tripod to ensure shots. To immediately store the captured footage a laptop is necessary. Lastly in case of sunlight, during filming it would be wise to have a reflector.

Once all the footage has been collected we will begin the editing process using Da Vinci Resolve software. We'll. Incorporate both the topic footage and B roll to effectively convey our message. The final product will be of a ninety-second nature and as mentioned before, it will be uploaded on an Instagram page that we created.
